Developing People of Good Character

The Early Years

Prep, Year 1 & Year 2

In the early years, Prep to Year 2, the focus is on developing curiosity, confidence, persistence, imagination and problem solving skills.

Students develop the foundation skills they will need for lifelong learning. Friendships and connections are established with other students and teachers and, as they progress through the years they become more independent.

Middle Primary

Years 3 & 4

Years 3 and 4 at Korowa is a time of self-discovery, where students are encouraged to explore their interests and try new things.

Students are more independent and can express themselves appropriately with confidence. These years focus on consolidating students’ learning so they feel self-assured in their abilities and become more independent learners.

Upper Primary

Years 5 & 6

Years 5 and 6 at Korowa is a very special time, students are becoming independent learners and completing their primary school years.

We encourage them to be leaders, to set their own learning goals and work with them to develop team work and problem solving skills so they are well prepared for secondary school.

Starting Secondary School

Years 7 & 8

Years 7 and 8, the Cripps Years, is an exciting time. Students are coming into a new environment, meeting lots of people and building connections.

We encourage them to try new things, and to be as involved as they can be. As they begin secondary school, the focus is on coming together as a community, negotiating challenges and becoming more independent.

Young Adults

Years 9 & 10

Years 9 and 10 at Korowa is all about challenge and choice. Students are able to try new subjects and discover what they are passionate about.

Hear from our students Molly and Isabella as they share their experience and talk about some of the highlights including Trek, Project Empathy and preparing for VCE.

VCE Years

Years 11 & 12

Our VCE students are well prepared and supported through wellbeing programs, careers counselling and guidance, as well as seminars on life skills to ensure they are not only ready for their final years of secondary school but life beyond school.

We are confident that our students leave Korowa as young people of good character who have the skills to be successful.
